Introduction
Cinder offers the reader a very intriguing tale of hardship, discrimination and a journey fueled by the flames of hope. The story is focused on the life of a young teenage girl whose circumstances, cause to stand on the horizon of change in her divided world.
Cinder Book PDF Plot
Part Human, part cyborg and orphaned at a young age, are but some of the challenges faced by Linh Cinder. Cinder due to mysterious circumstances was modified into a cyborg from her youth. These mechanical adjustments improve her physical condition, where her physical disabilities are less hindering. Being a young orphan, Cinder was fortunately taken in by Linh Garan. Garan looked after Cinder and took good care of her until he passed away. His passing left Cinder under the care of Adri, Garans widowed wife, and her two daughters. Adri treats Cinder horribly and even forces her to work, to support their family.
The focus of the story returns to the present, where Cinder is a teenager and a successful mechanic. Cinder is still working to support her stepmother Adri and her stepsisters, Peony and Pearl. Prince Kai, the son of the earth emperor, comes to meet Cinder. He comes to become fond of Cinder and flirts with her. Around this time cyborgs began to be drafted for the ongoing war between Lunars and earth. This is due to a plague being spread around the city. Despite being their family’s only source of income, Cinder is sent to be drafted by an enraged Adri. Adri’s anger is irrationally due to her beloved Peony falling ill to the plague.
Fortunately for Cinder, at the draft program, she learns about her origins from Dr. Erland. She discovers not only the amazing news that she is immune to the spreading plague but she is a Lunar. This means she is a part of the race that draws its orientation from the moon. The Lunars have been attempting to form peace with the earth for a while. Their newest tactic is the marriage of their Queen Levana to Prince Kai. While in the program Cinder is back to her working, this time helping Dr. Erland with his work. This works, however, promises to pay a fair deal, perhaps enough for her to emancipate herself from Adri.
Cinder becomes aware that Queen Levana has plans to kill Prince Kai, which Cinder actually stops from coming into fruition. This lands her in a great deal of trouble, which causes Prince Kai to learn that Cinder is actually a lunar and abandons her. Cinder’s fear has become a reality. She was uncomfortable with Kai’s advances due to her belief that he would abandon her if he knew her origin. Cinder’s meddling causes her to be thrown into jail. During her time behind bars, she discovers that she is actually the niece of Queen Levana. Also, she learns of how she can both save Prince Kai and end the war. Despite all of this, Cinder must first find a way to escape before it’s too late.
