As our teenage hero, Tessa heads to London – where vampires and other supernatural creatures await her arrival, in search of her brother. Then we have the Shadow hunters who are dedicated to keeping the Downworld at bay and remove all Demons from it. These warriors will stop at nothing to achieve and maintain order amidst the chaos.
Tessa is kidnapped by the Dark Sisters part of the Pandemonium. Tessa soon discovers that she has special abilities and can shapeshift into any other person. After this discovery is known, the head of the Pandemonium wants to obtain her ability and will stop at nothing until he succeeds.
Now Tessa is a target and in need of the protection of the Shadowhunters. Who also have problems of their own – they agreed to help her find her brother if she uses her power first to help them. Tessa meets new friends in the Institute, Jem, and Will. Who each have their peculiarities and problems. As danger, and tension rises our hero is faced with an important decision. Get the book to find out what happens but remember that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.
