Ready Player One Brief Summary
Ready Player One is a novelty in literature, a quest filled, ambitious approach to including a video game (The Oasis) into a book. In the year 2044, the earth is an ugly place – reality at least. Most people fill their lost pleasures and disgust by immersing themselves in The Oasis. Complete with puzzles and riddles, the result of the game is an Easter Egg put there by its creator, James Halliday before he died. The first person the find the egg wins.
Wade Watts, one of many who plays the game of course also dreams of inheriting Mr. Halliday’s fortune. But solving his riddles is harder than you think.
Wade stumbles upon the first puzzle, and things get real!
The world is watching, and Wade faces some very real threats from other powerful players who are willing to kill to get the prize first. Wade must step beyond his comfort zone and face the truths of the real world which he has always desperately tried to escape.
The world at stake.
A quest for the ultimate prize.
Are you ready?
