The Fever Code Summary
From the New York Times, best-selling series, The Maze Runner written by the brilliant James Dashner. Is the fifth and final edition of the series released September, 27th 2016, The Fever Code. It is the second prequel in the series (books 4 and 5) and follows after The Kill Order and concludes before The Maze Runner. Dashner wanted us to treat us to an understanding of what happened with the Maze before Thomas entered.

If the first book left you with questions, The Fever Code holds all the answers: Who or what is group B? What side are Thomas and Teresa on? How did the Gladers get into and survive The Maze? Who even created The Maze?
The Fever Code focuses on Thomas’s training and life with WICKED, and how he helped build the Maze before he became a subject of his creation.
Stephen or as we better know him Thomas is recruited by WICKED. Thomas only five years old soon meets with Teresa. The two then meet (Newt, Minho, and Alby) and become friends. The trio often took Thomas outside of WICKED to see the outside world until one day; they are caught! Newt is not immune, so he is tested for the virus and the others are thrown into the “Crank pits”. In the Pits, they meet the founder of WICKED a seemingly crazy man who writes: ‘WICKED is good,’ on the chalkboard.
This experience stopped the kids from sneaking around until they managed to hack the security systems. Teresa and Thomas are soon recruited to build the Maze. During its design, some of the group try to escape, but WICKED keeps tabs on them. Soon or later the Maze is completed.
Thomas’s, only friend,s are then sent into The Maze with the exception of Teresa and Chuck. One of the Gladers catch a virus similar to the Flare and has to be put down before he killed anyone else. It is also suspected that some people working for WICKED also have Flare and also need to be killed.
Some valuable information is then revealed, and Thomas believes his friends suffering in the Maze is pointless. He then schemes a plan to rescue them by going into the Maze himself with Teresa with both their memories intact.
But the plan failed, and Thomas ends up having his memories removed but is still sent into the Maze. Is Thomas going to survive the Maze? Does Teresa still have her memories? What is the fate of the Gladers? Pick up the next book in the series to find out!
